The 2019 Maillet has a really quite lovely bouquet with perfumed black cherries, violet and black truffle aromas that burst from the glass. The palate is very well balanced with grippy tannins, quite luscious black fruit but it reins everything back in towards the well defined and persistent finish. This must surely be the best Maillet produced to date?
Wine Advocate
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Maillet strolls confidently out of the glass with classic notes of plum preserves, ripe blackberries and clove oil plus hints of cedar chest, pencil lead and lilacs. The medium to full-bodied palate is chock-full of bright, crunchy black fruits, supported by finely grained tannins and tons of freshness, finishing long and perfumed.
