“Clean, intense fruit concentration with a layer of sweet spicy oak, chocolate and cinnamon. Firm tannic grip holds together the palate with blackberry, smoke and pencil lead notes.” Decanter
“A dense and fruity red with blackberry, spice and walnut character. Full body and chewy tannins that are polished and pretty.” James Suckling
This is a wine made for laying down, with a beautifully dense structure, powerful flavours and excellent length. This Merlot/Cabernet Franc blend is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels (50% new and 50% one year old) and expresses the full elegance and personality of these two famous varietals. Bâtonnage (lees stirring) leads the wine to take on an elegant edge of oak, along with volume and body. 82% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc.
