The Poggio Antico 2019 Rosso di Montalcino is spun tight with lots of cherry, cassis and tart fruit. Those lively primary tones are framed by light touches of spice and crushed stone. What stands out in the 2019 vintage is the extra concentration and richness of the mouthfeel. Production is 13,000 bottles.

Raspberries and chestnuts with mushroom and earth undertones. It’s full-bodied with fine, chewy tannins and lively acidity. Vibrant and fleshy on the palate. Pure and balanced with a long, savory finish. Excellent for the category. Drink now or hold.
Aging: 12 months in 500L French oak barrels (Tonneaux).

Die Vielfalt der Böden bei Poggio Antico bietet reiche und komplexe Nuancen: unterschiedliche Ausdrucksformen derselben Rebe finden sich innerhalb derselben Weinberge. So entstanden die Bodeneinheiten: 15 Mikroterroirs und 6 Makroeinheiten, die die „geologische Symphonie“ des Anwesens verstärken. Die Bodeneinheiten gehen über den Begriff «Weinberg» hinaus und unterteilen das 35 Hektar große Grundstück in Gebiete mit Böden gleicher Beschaffenheit, die auf verschiedenen Parzellen zu finden sind. Jede Bodeneinheit ist eine „Stimme“ von Poggio Antico, ein einzigartiger und möglicher Ausdruck seines Terroirs.
